denies rumours on debenture issuance
Electricity Generating Plc (EGCOMP) flatly denied a rumour that the
company is to mobilize funds by issuing convertible debentures with a
conversion price of Bt70.
In a filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), EGCOMP
clarified the published report which said the company's share prices had
increased because of news on the purchase of its Kanom power plant. There
has also been another rumour regarding its independent power producer
(IPP) bid saying that the company is to mobilize funds to purchase the
power plants.
This fueled rumors that the company would mobilize funds by issuing
convertible debentures with a converstion price of Bt70.
EGCOMP today insisted that the company was not the source of this
news and that the company had not provided any further information aside
from that already reported to the SET. The company made a particular
point of denying the news on the issuance of convertible debentures.
