REPORTS ON UTILISATION OF PROCEEDS AS AT JUN 30, 97

Electricity Generating Plc. (EGCOMP) reported on its utilisation of fund mobilised, up dated until June 30, 1997, as follows: Balance as at Dec 31, 96 3,445,552,660.67 baht Add: New shares offered to employees 37,014,000.00 baht Total 3,482,566,660.67 baht Less: Investment in Egco Engineering Co Ltd 115,000,000.00 baht Investment in Amata-Egco Power Co Ltd 84,934,500.00 baht Construction of headquarters building 41,482,705.29 baht Balance as at June 30, 1997 3,241,149,455.38 baht The remaining fund will be further invested in future projects and also spent as working capital according to the objectives of the capital increase. While waiting for projects to begin, the company has spent the amount to pay off by engaging into short-term investments and depositing with banks and large financial institutions, not forgetting concerns over stability and risks.
