To the Shareholders of Electricity Generating Company Limited
I have audited the accompanying balance sheet of Electricity Generating
Public Company Limited and the consolidated balance sheet of Electricity

1998 and the related statements of income, changes in shareholders' equity
and the statement of cash flows for the year then ended of Electricity

the Companys management. My responsibility is to express an opinion on these
financial statements based on my audit. The financial statements for the
year ended December 31, 1997, which are presented forcomparative purpose,
were audited by another auditor, whose report dated February 24, 1998
expressed an unqualified opinion.
I conducted my audit in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
in Thailand. Those standards require that I plan and perform the audit to
obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free
of material misstatement. An audit includes examining, on a test basis,
evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements.
An audit also includes assessing the accounting principles used and
significant estimates made by management, as well as evaluating the overall f
inancial statement presentation. I believe that my audit provides a
reasonable basis for my opinion.
In my opinion, the financial statements referred to above present fairly,
in all material respects, the financial position of Electricity Generating
Public Company Limited as at December 31, 1998 and the results of its
operations, changes in shareholders' equity and its cash flows for the year
then ended in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles in
Thailand.

information regarding the Year 2000 issue, as presented in this note, has
not been subjected to auditing procedures and, accordingly, I express no
opinion on it.
