CLARIFICATION ON THE MOU SIGNING CEREMONY NEWS

Subject: Clarification on the Memorandum of Understanding signing
ceremony News
According to the news on the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony
between Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP) and GMS
Power Public Company Limited (GMS) for implementing the 1,500 MW Jinghong
Power Project in the Republic of China in the amount of US$ 1,200,000,000.
Furthermore, EGCOMP is negotiating to purchase the shares of Union Power
Development Company Limited (Union Power) and there will be the joint
venture between EGCOMP and Singapore Power International (Singapore Power).
EGCOMP would like to clarify the fact as follows:
1. EGCOMP was an honorable guest in the Signing on Letter of Intent on
Jinghong Project between GMS and Government of the Republic of China
and GMS has invited EGCOMP to join this project. EGCOMP will consider
whether EGCOMP should invest in this project.
2. There is no negotiation between EGCOMP and Union Power to purchase
Union Power's shares.
3. Singapore power has invited EGCOMP to invest in Power Projects.
EGCOMP is in the detail study process, however EGCOMP will be aware
that there will not be conflict with CLP Power Projects (Thailand)
Limited, the second major shareholder of EGCOMP whose major shareholder
is Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
