THE INCREASING OF EGCOMP PORTION IN NAM THUEN 2

No. EGCO 310/554 Date : November 28, 2000 Attn : President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject: The increasing of EGCOMP portion in Nam Thuen 2 Reference is made to the entry of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP) into Nam Theun 2 Electricity Consortium (NTEC), of which the portion of NTEC's joint participation is as follows: Electricite de France 35 % The government of Laos PDR 25 % EGCOMP 20 % Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited 15 % Transfield Pty Ltd. 5 % EGCOMP would like to inform that the Board of Directors of EGCOMP at its meeting No.12/2000 held on November 27, 2000 had the resolution on the increasing of EGCOMP portion in NTEC's joint participation from 20% to 25%. EGCOMP is setting to replace Transfield Pty Ltd., which held 5% portion in NTEC. In addition, EGCOMP will increase its portion in NTEC after the approval of the government of Laos PDR.
