CLARIFICATION ON BATH 2 PER SHARE'S EGCOMP DIVIDEND PAYMENT

December 28, 2000 Attn: The President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject: Clarification on Baht 2 per share's EGCOMP dividend payment According to the news in the Manager newspaper and the Nation on December 28, 2000 stated that Electricitiy Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP) expects to pay a dividend of Bath 2 per share, EGCOMP would like to clarify that presently, EGCOMP does not announce its operating result and does not have the Board Meeting and the Annual General Meeting on allocating its profit for dividend. Thus, the aforesaid news is untrue. However, EGCOMP understands that the news is on the speculation of analysts base on information that EGCOMP has firm revenue from the 20 year-power purchase agreement with Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). Therefore, they calculate from the average of 3 Quarter EGCOMP's performance which EGCOMP has announced the profit per share of Baht 2.95.
