No. EGCO 310/003 Date : January 5, 2001 Attn : President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject: Clarification on the joint investment with PTT and UNOCAL According to the news in Manager newspaper on January 5, 2001, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP) would like to inform as follows: 1. The joint investment with Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) EGCOMP is in the process of feasibility study to jointly invest in SPP project with PTT 2. The joint investment with Unocal Bang Pakong Limited (Bermuda) EGCOMP signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Unocal Bang Pakong Limited (Bermuda) on April 27, 2000 to have the joint investment in SPP Project and presently UNEGCO Company Limited is under the establishment . 3. The progress on the purchase of Eastern Water Resource Development and Management Public Company Limited (EASTW)'s shares Currently, EGCOMP holds 18,294,500 shares in EASTW, which have been purchased in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), being equivalent to 18.29% of EASTW's total issued shares.
