TRANSMISSION SYSTEM IN CAMBODIA

No. EGCO 350/224 Date : July 2, 2002 Attn : President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject: Transmission System in Cambodia Reference is made to the report to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) on the Singing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP) and Ministry of Industry Mines and Energy (MIME) on April 5, 2000. The MOU was signed in order to conduct the feasibility study and development of the Project of High Voltage Transmission System for receiving the electrical power at the inter- connection point at Cambodia-Thailand border and delivering to the 3 provinces of Cambodia: Banteay Mean Chey, Battambang and Siem Reap , under the Power Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and Cambodia. EGCOMP would like to additionally inform the SET that on July 2, 2002, EGCOMP signed the Memorandum of Understanding of the Progress of Implementation Agreement with MIME Moreover, on the same date, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) signed the Power Purchase Agreement with Electricite du Cambodge(EDC) The project of High Voltage Transmission System for receiving the electrical power at the inter-connection point at Cambodia-Thailand border and delivering to Banteay Mean Chey, Battambang and Siem Reap has the total transmission line of approximate 200 Kilometres. The construction period will be 18-24 months and the investment cost is estimated about 20,000,000 US$ .
