No. EGCO 350/170 Date : May 7, 2003 Attn : President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject: Khanom Power Plant Repowering Project According to the proposal of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP) on Khanom Power Plant Repowering Project submitted to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) as an alternative to the expansion of power capacity in the south of Thailand in order to prepare the power situation in the south during 2003-2007 as well as being an alternative for the long-term resolution, EGCOMP would like to inform the Stock Exchange of Thailand that EGAT has considered that the project will be useful for power demand in the south and allow efficient utilization of natural gas. As a result, EGAT has included the project at 385.8 MW in its Power Development Plan 2003-2016 (PDP 2003) which is being reviewed by the Ministry of Energy. Yours sincerely, Kraisi Karnasuta President
