Lifting of Suspension on Trading of Securities of EGCOMP

No. EGCO 110/002 Date: January 6, 2004 Attn: President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject: Lifting of Suspension on Trading of Securities of EGCOMP Whereas we, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP) have requested the Stock Exchange of Thailand to temporarily suspend the trading of securities of EGCOMP, and the Stock Exchange of Thailand has suspended the trading of securities of EGCOMP effective from the first trading of 5 January 2004. We have been informed by Banpu Public Company Limited (Banpu) that Banpu has already notified the Stock Exchange of Thailand of the execution of the Memorandum of Understanding dated 5 January 2004 by Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, CLP Power Projects (Thailand) Limited and Banpu, and has disclosed material terms of the said Memorandum of Understanding to the public through the Stock Exchange of Thailand. We therefore would like to request the Stock Exchange of Thailand to lift the suspension on trading of securities of EGCOMP. Please be informed accordingly.
