News Clarification : Investment in Koh Kong Power Palnt

Subject: News Clarification : Investment in the Koh Kong Power Project in
Cambodia
We refer to the news in Khao Hoon Newspaper dated January 30, 2008 that
Electricity Generating Public Company Limited ("EGCO") signed the MoU with
Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited ("RATCH") and
Italian-Thai Development PublicCompany Limited ("ITD") for co-investment in
the Koh Kong Power Project in Cambodia with the project cost of approximately
200,000 million baht.
The Company would like to clarify that on January 23, 2008, EGCO had signed
the MoU to conduct the study for investment in the 3,660 MW Koh Kong Power
Project ("Project") in Cambodia with RATCH and Italian-Thai Power Company
Limited ("IPC"), which ITD holds a 15% stake. EGCO and RATCH would hold a
combined stake of 70% while IPC would hold another 30% in the Project. The
Project is in talks with EGAT about the power purchase. The construction is
expected to start by 2012 with the commercial operation date by early 2016.
