Investment in Thai Renewable Projects

Subject: Investment in Thai Renewable Projects
The Electricity Generating Public Company Limited ("EGCO") would like to
inform the Stock Exchange of Thailand that EGCO, on July 30, 2009, joined the
investment with CLP Thailand Renewables Limited ("CLP") and Diamond Generating
Asia, Limited ("DGM") by acquiring newly issued shares in the Natural Energy
Development Co., Ltd., ("NED") a company which is dedicated to development of
renewable energy projects in Thailand. Each of the parties will hold equal
33.33% shares in NED. This investment is approved by the Executive Committee
in the Meeting No.7/2009, held on July 9, 2009. The details of the transaction
are as follows:

6. Shareholding Structure after the Accomplishment of the Transaction
NED, the developer of the renewable projects, has the registered capital of 24
million baht which is divided into 2,400,000 million ordinary shares valuing
10 baht each. The shareholders' structure is as follows.
1. EGCO 33.33%
2. CLP Thailand Renewables Limited ("CLP") 33.33%
3. Diamond Generating Asia, Limited 33.33%
NED is currently pursuing a number of wind and solar energy opportunities in
Thailand. Through date, NED has obtained the Power Purchase Agreements with
the Provincial Electricity Authority for 13.5 MW of wind energy and 8 MW of
solar energy. NED continues to develop these projects to achieve successful
financial close and commercial operation.EGCO will inform the Stock Exchange
of Thailand if there is any significant progress milestone on these projects.
7. Benefit from Investment
This investment is in line with EGCO's business plan to invest in renewable
energy which will foster growth and provide portfolio diversity and long-term
value prospects. In addition,it will help promote fuel diversification in line
with the government's policy for clean and sustainable energy development.
