“EGCO Base: Mission for Change” exhibition opens now at NST Fair 2025 - inspiring youth to unlock secrets of “Triple R”

Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group has officially kicked off its “Scientific Innovation Discovery Journey - EGCO Base: Mission for Change” special exhibition at the National Science and Technology Fair 2025 (NST Fair 2025). Presiding over the opening ceremony were Mr. Somkiat Suttiwanich, EGCO Group’s Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Suwarong Wongsiri, Vice President and Acting President of the National Science Museum (NSM); and Dr. Peeranut Kanhadilok, Director of the National Science Awareness Development Center, NSM. The exhibition offers young people and the general public an opportunity to explore innovations and scientific ideas inspired by the “Triple R” concept at EGCO Group’s booth No.36, Hall 5, LG Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) from now until 17 August 2025. All activities are free.

Mr. Somkiat Suttiwanich, EGCO Group’s Chief Financial Officer, said that EGCO Group is committed to promoting learning and inspiring young people to explore knowledge in energy, science, and the environment. At the same time, we aim to instill a sense of responsibility in the youth, encouraging them to take part in addressing environmental and natural resource challenges. Believing that “A good start will lead to a successful outcome”, EGCO Group is participating in the NST Fair 2025 for the third consecutive year. This exhibition serves as a secret base that inspires young people to become responsible global citizens who are aware of the challenges posed by climate change and to address the issues through the development of innovation and scientific knowledge.

“EGCO Group invites young people and interested individuals to visit and explore our secret base at the NST Fair 2025, from now until 17 August 2025. We hope they will enjoy fun learning activities and be inspired by innovations driven by the “Triple R” concept: Refuse negative actions at the beginning; Refill positive ones to restore the richness of nature; and Reverse the negative situation into a positive one and create an even better future. Then they will become “Re-Gen Hero” who can regenerate the world,” said Mr. Somkiat.

Ms. Pinsuda Piampiti, EGCO Group’s Vice President – Corporate Affairs, stated that the “Scientific Innovation Discovery Journey - EGCO Base: Mission for Change” comprises three zones:

  • Zone 1 EGCO Base Mission: Entering this secret base and take an immersive journey through time to decode the “Triple R” concept in the 4D theatre.
  • Zone 2 EGCO Regenerative: Visitors will be assigned a mission to discover exciting regenerative innovations from Thailand and around the world.
  • Zone 3 EGCO Act Now or Never! Young attendees will enjoy transforming into “Re-Gen Hero” with the help of AI technology, and sharing their ideas of how to regenerate the world. At the end of the event, EGCO Group will compile ideas and feedbacks from young innovators and visitors, and submit them to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to help inform future policy-making.

Ms. Wiriyaporn Kuruthamjaru, Prathom 4 student at Mooban Settakij School (Pum Pradab Rat Samakki) in Bangkok, said she had a lot of fun participating in the activities with her parents at EGCO Group’s exhibition. She was particularly inspired by the innovation that transforms seawater into drinking water using solar power, as it helps conserve water. After this experience, she plans to help save the world by planting more trees and not supporting forest burning.

Ms. Chananchida Choochuay and Ms. Sopita Rodnoi, Mathayomsuksa 1 students from Bang Pakok Wittayakom School in Bangkok, said they were impressed by the 4D theatre, especially its stunning lighting, sound effects, and use of AI. They also enjoyed the information about innovation and the photo displays at the booth. After visiting EGCO Group’s exhibition, they felt inspired to help protect the environment - starting by avoiding the burning of trees and paper.

Mr. Panya Kijjanukit, a father who brought his daughter to the exhibition, shared that the event is an excellent initiative, as it encourages young children to become future innovators. He believes that children have great imaginative potential and can develop innovations to help protect the planet. He added that the exhibition helps children understand real-world problems, gives them time to reflect, and inspires them to use their creativity for future solutions. His daughter especially loved the 4D theatre because of her interest in science lessons at school.

After the NST Fair 2025 at QSNCC concludes, EGCO Group will relocate the special exhibition to the Khanom Learning Center in Khanom District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. It will be open to the public from 2 September 2025 until 2026 Children’s Day on 10 January 2026. EGCO Group hopes the exhibition will continue to inspire and empower young people in southern Thailand to better understand and address the challenges of climate change.
