“Chaiyaphum Wind Farm” under EGCO Group Wins Social Work Awards 2025

Chaiyaphum Wind Farm, a subsidiary of EGCO Group, was recently honored with the Social Work Awards 2025 - Private Business Category, presented by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand under the Royal Patronage on the occasion of National Social Welfare and Thai Volunteer Day 2025. As the first private company in Chaiyaphum province to receive this prestigious recognition, Chaiyaphum Wind Farm is acknowledged for its strong commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen and a good neighbor, dedicated to promoting the development and well-being of local communities, society, and the environment.

Mr. Vichan Sripairoj, Executive Vice President-Power Plant Management, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group, said that Chaiyaphum Wind Farm, a wholly owned subsidiary of EGCO Group, is located in Sap Yai district, Chaiyaphum province. The plant began commercial operations in 2016 and has since continuously implemented initiatives to promote community, social, and environmental development. Its tangible achievements have earned strong recognition within the local area, leading the Chaiyaphum Social Development and Human Security Office to nominate the wind farm for the Social Work Awards, a prestigious national honor. Chaiyaphum Wind Farm is the first private company in the province to receive this award, bringing great pride to both the company and Chaiyaphum Province.

Chaiyaphum Wind Farm operates a clean energy business that strengthens the nation’s power security and supports Thailand’s energy transition toward a low-carbon society. Some of Chaiyaphum Wind Farm’s outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives include:

  • Upgrading red-earth roads to gravel roads to improve transportation convenience and safety for residents and agricultural transport.
  • Collaborating with relevant agencies to extend electricity distribution areas, increasing community access to reliable power.
  • Constructing check dams and developing village water supply systems to ensure sufficient and sustainable water resources.
  • Encouraging multi-crop farming instead of monoculture to help local farmers generate stable, year-round income.
  • Promoting community and social development through job creation, education, skills training, and health initiatives.

Mr. Vichan Sripairoj, Executive Vice President-Power Plant Management, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group, received the “Social Work Awards 2025 – Private Business Category” from ACM Chalit Pukbhasuk, Privy Councillor. The award ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, was held to mark National Social Welfare and Thai Volunteer Day at Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok. The recognition was presented to Chaiyaphum Wind Farm, a wholly owned subsidiary of EGCO Group, for its outstanding social contributions.
