Form 57 (Y2K) Report of the preparation to handle the Year 2000 Problem The Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO) ,a holding company, holds 99.99% stake in both the Rayong Electricity Generating Company Limited and the Khanom Electricity Generating Company Limited which generate and supply electricity to The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) as well as holds shares in other subsidiaries and affiliated companies which do electricity related business and other business. In 1999, the Y2K budget is adjusted from 63.7 million baht to 66.4 million baht due to the higher price of equipment and consultant fee. 2. Management Discussion and Analysis As of March 1999, the company is in the Implementation phase the final step to solve the Year 2000 problem. The expected problems which will impact on KEGCO, Power Generation System and Plant Maintenance System, have been solved ahead of time (scheduled for completion in September 1999). For external supply system, Fuel Supply System (Natural Gas), it has been certified by The Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) to comply with The Year 2000 by the statement of Yokogawa (Thailand) Ltd. The actual expenditure is about 50% of the whole budget. (Budget is about 66 million baht and actual is about 34 million baht) Next, the Implementation phase and the contingency plan will be completed within the plan schedule.
