EGCO Group Kicks Off “Klongluang” SPP Power Plant

Mr. Chanin Chaonirattisai, Director, Acting President of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited or EGCO Group revealed that “Our latest SPP power plant, “Klongluang”, a wholly owned subsidiary of EGCO, has successfully started its commercial operation to supply electricity to the national grid since July 20, 2017. The new power plant would constantly generate more revenues for the Company with its earning to be recognized in the third quarter this year onwards. In addition, the power plant using cogeneration system has an advantage in supporting efficient fuel consumption which partly enhances the country’s power security.”

The Klongluang power plant, situated in Klong Nueng Sub-district, Klongluang District, Pathumthani Province, is driven by the cogeneration system and fueled by natural gas. It has the total installed capacity of 121 MW comprising 2 gas turbines producing 47MW each and a 27 MW stream turbine, and sells its 90 MW electricity output to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under a 25-year firm PPA for Small Power Plant scheme while the rest of the output will be sold to the industrial users.
