REPORTS ITS SIGNING OF LOAN CONTRACTS

Electricity Generating Plc. (EGCOMP) reported that on June 3, 1996 Khanom Electricity Generating Co., Ltd. (KEGCO), in which EGCOMP held a stake of 99.99%, arranged a signing ceremony for loan contracts. The said loans would be the capital in purchasing Khanom Electricity plant from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The details are as follows: 1. US$ syndicated loan of up to US$265 million, 12-year term, provided by:- - Bank of Tokyo - Mitsubishi - The Industrial Bank of Japan Limited - The Sakura Bank Limited - The Sanwa Bank Limited - The Sumitomo Bank Limited - Thai Farmers Bank Plc. - Dredsner Bank AG - The Tokai Bank Limited - The Tokyo Trust and Banking Company Limited There were swaps of the loan with AIG Financial Products Asia Limited as follows: - A swap of US$165 million loan, fixed floating rate - A swap of US$100 million loan, floating rate, into Bt2,523 million 2. VAT loan of up to Bt1,136 million, 6-month term, provided by Thai Farmers Bank Plc. 3. Working capital facility of up to Bt225 million, 15-year term, provided by Bangkok Bank Plc.
