ANNOUNCES SUBSIDIARY'S JOINT VENTURE

Electricity Generating Plc (EGCOMP) announced Egcoh Engineering & Service Co., Ltd., 99.99% EGCOMP holding stakes, had dealt joint venture agreement with John Wood Group Holding Co., Ltd. and Mr.Pichit Diyawuthiroj on February 28, 1997.This is to establish Egcoh Wood Co., Ltd. with Bt20 million registered capital split into 2 million shares, Bt10 each par value, the shareholding proportion as shown below: Egcoh Engineering & Service Co., Ltd. 45% John Wood Goup Holding Co., Ltd. 45% Mr.Pichit Diyawuthiroj 10% Expectedly, that joint venture firm would start opration to repair some equipment in generating plant at Rayong Province in May this year and would finish in October, 1997. The value of this project recorded at Bt60 million. Egcoh Engineering & Service Co., Ltd., however, was assigned to monitor and check gas turbile apparatus of National Petrochemical Plc and would start the operation on March 3 - April 1, 1997.
