CLARIFIES FOR Q3/1997 RESULT

Electricity Generating Plc made net profit dragging Bt282.12 m or 48.96% down from the same period last year due mainly to Bt179.86 m lower profit realised from subsidiaries, because machineries must be quit for maintenance. Other income eroded by Bt30.97 m while expenses soared after lusing Bt60.75 m from instrument issueance.
