EXPECTATION ON EGCOMP'S DOUBLED NET PROFIT FOR H2/01

No. EGCO 410/372 Date : August 24, 2001 Attn : The President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject : Expectation on EGCOMP's doubled Net Profit for H2/01 According to the news posted in Reuters on August 23, 2001, Mr. Sitthiporn Ratanopas, the President & CEO of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCOMP), stated in an interview that the Net Profit for the 2nd half of the year 2001 was expected to be double the amount EGCOMP made in the 1st half. EGCOMP would like to clarify the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) that the Net Profit, which Mr. Sitthiporn mentioned, is just forecasted number. However, many factors, especially foreign exchange, may have impact on the actual Net Profit.
