Investment in Koh Kong Power Project (Revised)

EGCO No. 110/ 040 Date: January 30, 2008 Attention: President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Subject: News Clarification : Investment in the Koh Kong Power Project in Cambodia (Revised Version) We refer to the news in Khao Hoon Newspaper dated January 30, 2008 that Electricity Generating Public Company Limited ("EGCO") signed the MoU with Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public Company Limited ("RATCH") and Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited ("ITD") for co-investment in the Koh Kong Power Project in Cambodia with the project cost of approximately 200,000 million baht. The Company would like to clarify that on January 23, 2008, EGCO had signed the MoU to the study for investment in the 3,660 MW Koh Kong Power Project ("Project") in Cambodia with RATCH and Italian-Thai Power Company Limited ("IPC"), ITD's subsidiary. EGCO and RATCH would hold a combined stake of 70% while IPC would hold another 30% in the Project. The Project is in talks with EGAT about the power purchase. The construction is expected to start by 2012 with the commercial operation date by early 2016. Please be informed accordingly.
